The last beam of the new Tempo by Hilton hotel in North Little Rock was placed Thursday, June 18. To commemorate this moment, community leaders, project partners, local business owners and more signed their names on the beam.

“More than a construction milestone, the gathering highlighted the excitement surrounding the hotel’s future impact on the district’s continued growth and vibrancy,” a press release states.
Present at the event was Scottie Pippen, a former NBA star and hotel investor. President and CEO of North Little Rock Tourism Karen Trevino and North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick were also in attendance.
“This is going to be more than a hotel; it’s going to be welcoming people into our community,” Trevino said.
She stressed how important the hotel is for the growth of North Little Rock.
During the event, Kal Makan, owner and operator of Makan Hospitality Management, presented Hartwick with a Champions of Progress Award.
“His dedication to North Little Rock and the community and the further growth of North Little Rock has been such a tremendous part for us to have the ability to invest our money into Argenta,” Makan said.
The hotel is one of multiple large projects taking place in North Little Rock, including the recently completed North Little Rock Conference Center and the Arena District.
The Tempo, which is set to open its doors mid-2027, will feature a rooftop bar and restaurant. At Thursday’s event, it was also announced that Chef Tim Love will be bringing one of his Texas restaurant concepts to this rooftop restaurant.
Chris Kent, executive director of Argenta Downtown Council, said that the hotel has been a long-time dream in North Little Rock.
“Generations of North Little Rock leaders remain committed to creating a downtown that will become a destination and a source of pride for our community,” he said.
