Clark Contractors of Little Rock recently announced the promotions of J.R. Hensley and Lance Smith to the position of General Superintendent.
As General Superintendent, Hensley and Smith will provide field support to handle Clark Contractors’ increased volume of work.
Clark Contractors’ General Superintendents oversee multiple building projects and are involved with pre-construction planning and construction management to ensure the team in the field has all of the necessary resources to deliver a high-quality project, safely and on schedule.
Hensley previously held the position of Project Superintendent and has been with Clark Contractors since the company’s inception in 2009. As General Superintendent, Hensley will oversee all of Clark’s work at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), including the multi-year energy cost savings measures work currently taking place on campus. During his time at Clark, Hensley has worked on many different projects, including construction of the Arcade Building in Little Rock, Murphy USA Headquarters Renovation in El Dorado, and Murphy Oil Corporation Headquarters in El Dorado. Hensley has 34 years of experience in the construction industry and has received training and certification in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour and the American Society for HealthCare Engineering (ASH) Health Care Construction Certificate.
Smith previously held the position of Project Superintendent and has been with Clark Contractors since 2010. As General Superintendent, Smith’s focus will be on current CARTI projects in both Pine Bluff and El Dorado until these projects are completed.
Since joining the team at Clark, Smith has worked on projects in commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, and retail, including the Mann on Main historic building renovation in Little Rock, the Hilton Garden Inn in Grapevine, Texas, and the Simmons River Market Tower Renovation in Little Rock. He has 26 years of experience in the construction industry and has received OSHA 30-Hour and Lead Abatement certifications and OSHA training in Excavation and Trench Safety.
