UPDATE: Heights Corner Market owner Eric Herget confirmed to AMP on Thursday that the Little Rock location is remaining open as he and his wife, Lou Anne, prepare to open a second location in Hot Springs.
Herget said the Hot Springs location, which will keep the Heights Corner Market name, is opening in an old Wendy’s location on Grand Avenue, just off the Grand-Central Avenue intersection. Herget said they closed on the building Wednesday and expects the new location to be open for business by mid-January.
The old Wendy’s provides much more room than the original location, he added, and its drive-through setup will work well for customers looking to pick up pre-ordered steaks and other items. Herget said he hopes to become a go-to stop for Little Rock residents headed to the lake or racetrack. The Hot Springs store, like the original, will include dine-in eating during the day and have meat, produce, prepared meals, seafood and, of course, pre-ordered steaks.
