Harding University recently hired Paul Maynard as its new chief growth and strategy officer, beginning Sept. 23. He will report directly to Harding University President Dr. Mike Williams.
In this newly-created role, Maynard will lead all of the external outreach efforts, including Admissions, Advancement, Alumni & Parent Relations, Harding’s American Studies Institute, and University Communications and Marketing. The focus of his new role will be to enhance Harding’s strategic vision, grow its revenues and broaden its impact.
“We’re thrilled to welcome this principled and accomplished leader to Harding University as our chief growth and strategy officer,” Dr. Williams said. “Paul has tremendous leadership acumen. We’re confident his diverse skill set will be instrumental in helping Harding achieve our ambitious aspirations.”
Maynard has more than 35 years of experience in leadership and strategic planning. For over two decades, he has served as a partner at a global professional services company, leading teams for some of the company’s largest and most complex accounts, and driving key strategic initiatives.
Before that, Maynard spent 15 years working at an accounting firm. He has extensive fundraising experience, co-leading several nonprofit capital campaigns and serving on the finance committees for two U.S. presidential candidates and numerous U.S. Senate, U.S. House and Minnesota gubernatorial candidates.
Maynard obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University in 1987 and continued his education there to get his master’s degree just one year later. He currently serves on the Harding College of Business Advisory Board and previously served on the ASI Advisory Board. Maynard and his wife Robin have also served as volunteer co-chairs of the Harding University President’s Council. Their three children, Allie, Matthew and Jake, have all attended or currently attend Harding University.
