Harding to Play for Another D-2 National Title

The Harding Bisons will play for the Searcy school’s second NCAA Division II football national championship in three years on Saturday in McKinney, Texas.

Harding will face traditional D-2 power and defending national champion Ferris State of Michigan on Saturday at 3 p.m. from McKinney, Texas. Both teams are 15-0. Harding is the overall No. 2 seed while the Bulldogs are the overall top seed. Ferris has been ranked first and Harding second in the NCAA’s D-2 poll all year.

The Bisons advanced to the title game with a 49-27 semifinal win over Kutztown (Pennsylvania). Ferris advanced with a 49-17 win over Newberry (South Carolina). The Bulldogs won national titles in 2021, 2022 and 2024, sandwiched around Harding’s 2023 championship.

Harding has won or shared four of the last five Great American Conference football championships. The GAC was formed in 2011. The championship game will kick off at 3 p.m. and be televised by ESPN2. Click here for tickets and more information.
