Despite the cold weather, a large group of Nabholz Construction and Riggs Caterpillar staff members huddled together to watch company leaders break ground on the new Riggs Rebuild Center in Little Rock.
The new campus, which is being built on 40 acres off of South Shackleford Road, will feature three buildings totaling 160,000 square feet. It will include a parts warehouse, office space, 10 equipment-rebuild bays and 33 component disassembly and reassembly bays.
The facility will help Riggs Cat to perform large-scale rebuilds and service on Caterpillar equipment more quickly and efficiently. It is the largest single facility investment that the company has ever made. The project is already well underway, with teams having worked since the summer to prepare and flatten the site, which was originally a large hill and valley, Nabholz officials said.
Nabholz CEO Jake Nabholz thanked Riggs Cat for its continued long-time relationship with his company.
“As you can see, it’s a very impressive facility, and we’re excited to be a part of it,” he said.
Arthur Riggs, senior vice president at Riggs Cat, thanked the previous generations of Riggs leadership for “building a company with integrity that has created a foundation for a project like this.”
He said the new rebuild facility will help the companies continue to keep client trust and “promote urgency, quality and excellence every day.”
The estimated completion date for the project is early 2027.
