The 2019 Governor’s Conference on Tourism is changing locations after failing to secure adequate space in the original host city.
Arkansas Tourism Director Jim Dailey announced that the conference planning team has decided to move the conference from the original host city, El Dorado, due to “unforeseen circumstances.” According to the press release, there is not adequate space to host the event, which prompted the move.
“The community of El Dorado has been wonderful to work with during our intial planning for the conference. They are just as disappointed as we are that the Governor’s Conference will not take place as originally planned,” Dailey says.
Currently, the planning team is searching for another host city and will provide updates once a location is secured. In addition, the dates for the conference, which is scheduled for March 3-5, 2019, will likely change.
The Governor’s Conference on Tourism is designed to encourage interest in Arkansas, and it highlights marketing strategies, social media workshops and other tourism-related talks.
