The Thea Foundation received $10,000 from First Orion to support its nonprofit efforts.
According to the foundation, the funding will be instrumental in supporting its statewide programs. The donation comes as Thea Foundation has closed its doors – including fundraisers and programming – during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“First Orion is trying to do everything we can to help Central Arkansas during this difficult time. The need has gone up – and the funding has gone down – so we’re hoping to help our community fill those gaps,” First Orion chairman and CEO Charles Morgan said in a statement.
Thea Foundation is kicking off a fundraising effort to support Thea’s Art Closet for the 2020-21 school year. The foundations’ Challenge Match is to raise $50,000, and the Windgate Foundation has already committed that sum to Thea’s Art Closet.
