LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KARK 4 News) — The ride sharing company Uber is coming to terms with airports in Little Rock and Fayetteville to collect a fee from riders.
Starting this week, people picked up from the airports will begin getting charged an extra $2 dollars per trip. It’s the same as a fee paid for taxi cab rides, which goes to offset airport expenses.
“We’re trying to be a good partner here in Little Rock and across the state and I think the airport has a reasonable job to do,” said William Guernier, general manager for Uber Regional Expansion East Coast.
During a meeting on Wednesday, the Public Service Commission heard from Uber and other stake holders. The agency is moving forward with implementation of a law passed during the last session regulating ride sharing companies.
