Farmers & Merchants Bank and the Bank of Fayetteville have announced the promotion of Brett Provost to the newly created position of vice president of farm management. Provost will work out of the bank’s Jonesboro office and will oversee efforts to expand the bank’s farm management services.
In his new role, Provost will oversee every aspect of farm operations on behalf of clients, including tenant selection and leasing, commodity marketing, agronomics, conservation practices and capital improvement projects such as land leveling, drainage and irrigation. He will also help clients navigate the tax advantages associated with long-term improvements.
“I’m passionate about all aspects of farming, from sustainability and soil and water conservation to crop and soil health and fostering long-term relationships with farm operators,” Provost said. “My extensive experience, combined with my business relationships, has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique opportunities available to farm owners.”
Provost brings nearly three decades of agricultural and banking experience to his new role. He joined Farmers and Merchants Bank in 2012 as vice president of agricultural and commercial lending and previously served as vice president, trust farm management officer.
