Conway Regional Health System is expanding its neonatal intensive care team with the addition of two neonatal nurse practitioners, increasing access to specialized newborn care for families across central Arkansas.
Ashley Conger, APRN, and Julie Ingle, APRN, have joined the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) team at Conway Regional Medical Center, where they will work alongside Katie Cruz, APRN. Their additions bring the team to three neonatal nurse practitioners.
“As more Arkansas communities experience reduced access to maternity and newborn services, Conway Regional is committed to expanding specialized care for families in the communities we serve,” said Rebekah Fincher, chief administrative officer at Conway Regional Health System. “By growing our multidisciplinary neonatal team, we’re strengthening comprehensive care for mothers and babies. Expanding these services locally improves access, supports better outcomes, and helps keep mothers and babies close to home.”
Conger brings 11 years of experience caring for infants in the NICU at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and UAMS. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2019.
Ingle has more than 15 years of experience caring for critically ill infants, including 11 years as a neonatal nurse practitioner at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and UAMS. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2014.
Conway Regional Medical Center operates an eight-bed, Level II NICU, recognized by the Arkansas Perinatal Regionalization Committee. The unit provides advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns. Through a telehealth partnership with Arkansas Children’s, patients also have access to around-the-clock neonatal specialists while remaining close to home.
The NICU works alongside the Conway Regional Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center of Arkansas and the Conway Regional Renaissance Women’s Center to provide coordinated care for mothers and babies throughout pregnancy, delivery and the newborn period.
