Dr. Ethan Erwin, a Hot Springs native, creates radiant smiles in his dental practice, leveraging state-of-the-art technology to craft smiles as timeless as the ancient springs themselves.

“I have a passion for people and always wanted to come back to serve my hometown,” Erwin said. “I love the three-dimensional aspects of dentistry. I love the fact that dentistry combines engineering and artistry.”

After graduating from Lakeside High School, Erwin headed to Conway, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Arkansas in 2016 with his Bachelor of Science. From there, he was 1 of 2 Arkansans accepted in his class to attend dental school at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, formerly known as Baylor College of Dentistry.

“Baylor College of Dentistry gave me an exceptional foundation to build on,” he said. I had several great mentors and professors, one of whom was Dr. John Stooksberry. He took me under his wing to provide mentorship in the basic components of cosmetic dentistry, which many never experience in dental school. This gave me my first taste of success in transforming not only smiles but also people’s lives.”

Having completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2020, Erwin returned to Central Arkansas to serve the community he loved in uncertain times. “I was a new dentist with a fiery passion to serve my community at a time when dentistry was being withheld from an already underserved population due to the pandemic. I knew my community deserved better, which helped me set my sights on providing exceptional dentistry for all of Arkansas.”

“I started out working part-time at several offices, knowing that I would eventually like to own my own office in my hometown of Hot Springs,” Erwin said. One of my biggest mentors was Dr. DJ Dailey in Little Rock. I had the opportunity to work with him and benefit from his mentorship, which has helped shape my own style of practice.”

In July 2021, Erwin joined the now-retired Dr. Robert J. Barnett to form Smile Hot Springs, who also proved a vital mentor as Erwin began serving his hometown of Hot Springs.

“He taught me the importance of compassion and patience as a dentist,” Erwin said. “I am so thankful for the opportunity he gave me when I joined him and transitioned his 40-year legacy of Barnett Family Dentistry to Smile Hot Springs, which made my dreams a reality. We have added Dr. Britten Lovelace, who has seamlessly integrated into our Smile Hot Springs team, bringing her wealth of expertise and a commitment to exceptional patient care. Her presence has enriched our practice, ensuring that our patients receive the highest service and attention.”
