Multifamily housing project brings a variety of units to the Arts District
BENTONVILLE, ARK.— A new multifamily housing development from Newell Development is set to open soon in the
downtown Bentonville Arts District.
Depot No. 16 is part of the “B Street ReDevelopment Project”, which is a multi-unit redevelopment effort that spans
several years. The project’s goal is to create “attractive and affordable residential and commercial solutions.”
Depot No. 16 is a multifamily housing development that is inspired by American factories built during the Industrial Age.
The Newell Development team worked with several Arkansas-based companies to develop the architectural plans,
interior design, and landscape schematics, said Jake Newell, owner/CEO of Newell Development.
Newell Development is the developer, and Cadence Group LLC is the owner. Cadence is a partnership between Newell
and Ted Herget, who is the owner of Gearhead Outfitter. First National Bank of NWA is providing the financing and CR
Crawford Construction is the contractor. Cromwell Architects and Engineers and Ecological Design Group also
contributed to the project.
“We’ve been working for three years in the Arts District to create a tight-knit community of houses, townhouses and
apartments with mixed use/ office space on SW B Street between 4th and 7th,” Newell said. “Business to us is about
community. We want our company to be about inviting other people into this story in Downtown Bentonville.
“As a developer, we try to build a unique infill developments but what makes these developments work are the
amenities, which are the local businesses. This is a community effort going on. We’re all here working together to create
an authentic community where we want to be a part of and grow,” Newell continued. “We want people to love where
they live.”
The Depot No. 16 project features a variety of units with 1-3 bedrooms, 1-2 bathrooms and private street entrances and
balconies for some units. For leasing information please contact Jake Newell. Jake@newelldevelopemnt.com or
