Darrow Jones, owner of Jones & Son Diamond & Bridal Fine Jewelry, has made a $1 million estate trust provision to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The legacy gift will support the hospital’s mission to provide compassionate pediatric care across the state for generations to come.
With this latest commitment, Jones and his business have contributed more than $2.5 million to Arkansas Children’s through event sponsorships, donations and youth initiatives. Since 2009, Jones has supported the hospital’s auxiliary programs, including Miracle Ball, a la Carte and the ACHievers Program, which introduces ninth-grade students to careers in health care and philanthropy.
“Giving back is one of the most meaningful ways we can serve our community,” said Jones. “Arkansas Children’s has always held a special place in our hearts, and I’m proud to support the hospital and its mission — not just today, but for generations to come.”
Fred Scarborough, executive vice president and chief development officer at Arkansas Children’s, said estate gifts like Jones’s represent “the very best of personal and corporate philanthropy” and help sustain the hospital’s future.
“This gift ensures lasting support for the future and is a powerful inspiration to our team and community,” he said.
Arkansas Children’s served more than 180,000 children in fiscal year 2024, the most in its history. The hospital is currently undergoing a $318 million expansion to increase access and enhance the patient experience.
