The Sky’s the Limit: Aviation’s Impact on Arkansas
On any given day in Arkansas, hundreds of airplanes pass overhead, often going unnoticed by the busy population below. It seems that many people are too busy or just so accustomed to the sound of an airplane overhead that they seldom even notice them.
While aviation is certainly a normal part of everyday life, the important role it plays in our modern world bears mentioning. A healthy aviation system is absolutely essential in helping communities compete in a global market. Aviation is more than just airplanes, although they are certainly a significant part and, arguably, the most visible.

Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, speaking at a national press teleconference March 3, said that while the nation continues to take an aggressive national posture of containment, “we can and should be prepared for this new virus to gain a foothold in the United States.

That’s why no Major League teams finish 162-0. And sometimes teams hit a rough patch, or a slump, and inexplicably lose four games in a row. It happens. The Chicago Cubs looked like a club that had never played the game and dug themselves a big hole before waking up from hibernation and climbing back in the National League Central race.
The quirkiness of hardball is lost on those who have grown up with a focus on SEC football. They cannot fathom a highly regarded team surviving such a skid that the baseball team is mired in.
