Two Arkansas Filmmakers to Write Scripted Series Based on Netflix Docuseries
Two Arkansas filmmakers have signed up to write a scripted series based on a Netflix docuseries.
Graham Gordy and Daniel Campbell have signed on to pen the series, according to a spokesperson for Spectrum Originals. The news was first reported by Hollywood trade website Deadline, which reports that the duo have turned in an outline for the project.

2019 proved to be a good year for Simmons First National Corporation, the holding company of Simmons Bank.
The company posted record earnings for 2019, racking up 237.8 million in net income. For comparison, Simmons reported $215.7 million in earnings for 2018 – a difference of $22.1 million between the two years.

The Trump administration rolled out a new change to the definition of the “waters of the United States” that is aimed at rolling back Obama-era environmental regulations.

UAMS Invests Mendiratta with Dillard Distinguished Chair in Geriatrics
A University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) geriatrician has been named to the Alexa L. & William T. Dillard Distinguished Chair in Geriatrics. Priya Mendiratta, who serves as a geriatrician and director for the geriatric clerkship and course at UAMS, was invested in the chair on Jan. 16.
Mendiratta has served in various roles at UAMS since joining as a geriatric fellow in 2005. Currently an associate professor at UAMS College of Medicine, she is slated to be elevated to a full professorship in July.

Gaiters, a recent University of Central Arkansas grad as well as the president and CEO of the Arkansas Fashion Council, is launching a new speaker series called TrendSetters. In recent months, Gaiters has worked to develop relationships with universities in Arkansas, including the University of Arkansas, and other entities that will participate in the initiative.
