Patients with UnitedHealthcare commercial insurance will continue to have in-network access to Conway Regional Health System under a new multi-year agreement reached between the healthcare system and the insurance provider.
Conway Regional announced the agreement Wednesday, saying it was finalized ahead of an Aug. 15 deadline. The agreement ensures continued, uninterrupted in-network access to Conway Regional Health System, Dardanelle Regional Medical Center and affiliated clinics and providers.
“Every decision we make begins with one question: how does this impact our patients?” said Angie Longing, president and CEO of Conway Regional Health System. “We appreciate the work UnitedHealthcare invested alongside Conway Regional to reach an agreement that protects patient access and allows us to continue caring for the communities we serve.”
The two organizations spent several months working through the contract renewal process, with patient access remaining a primary focus throughout the negotiations.
According to Conway Regional, the new agreement represents an investment by UnitedHealthcare in the health system and highlights the importance of maintaining community-based healthcare in central and north central Arkansas and the River Valley.
The agreement comes as hospitals across Arkansas continue to face increased financial pressures.
For patients with UnitedHealthcare commercial insurance, there is no action required. Their in-network access to Conway Regional Health System will continue without interruption under the new agreement.
