Conway Regional Health System President and CEO Matt Troup will leave the organization this summer after accepting an out-of-state market president role. His departure will officially take effect on July 17.
Troup has led Conway Regional since August 2015, overseeing a period of significant expansion and transformation for the health care system. During his tenure, Conway Regional grew from a community hospital into one of Arkansas’ fastest-growing regional health care systems, extending services across central and north central Arkansas and into the River Valley.
Under Troup’s leadership, the organization expanded specialty care services, added outpatient clinics, recruited physicians, strengthened strategic partnerships and invested heavily in facilities and regional operations. Conway Regional also earned Magnet Designation for nursing excellence and launched Graduate Medical Education initiatives aimed at addressing Arkansas’ physician shortage.
“This decision was difficult because of the relationships my family and I have developed through the more than eleven years in the state and the close connection to Conway Regional and its progression as a health system,” said Troup. “I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished together over the past 11 years. The growth and progress we’ve seen across the organization would not have been possible without the dedication of our employees, providers, leaders, and Board of Directors. I am deeply thankful for the trust, support, and relationships built during my time at Conway Regional. This opportunity represents an exciting new challenge to engage, align, and lead a team, and I look forward to supporting continued personal and professional growth. I will still be Conway Regional’s #1 fan.”
Conway Regional’s Board of Directors praised Troup’s leadership and long-term impact on the organization.
“Matt has provided exceptional leadership during one of the most important periods in Conway Regional’s history. His vision, servant leadership approach, operational discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence have helped position Conway Regional as one of the premier regional health systems in Arkansas,” said Jeff D. Standridge, chairman of the Conway Regional Board of Directors. “While we are certainly saddened to see him leave, we are incredibly grateful for the foundation he has helped build, and we wish Matt and Melissa tremendous success in this next chapter.”
The Conway Regional Board of Directors announced it will immediately begin the search for the organization’s next president and CEO. Additional details about the leadership transition are expected in the coming weeks.
