The city of Little Rock’s Small Business Development Office has partnered with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center to offer a course this fall that focuses on helping existing entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
The Kauffman FastTrac GrowthVenture program is designed to support small business owners seeking best practices to take their ventures to the next level.
The course, which shares strategies and processes for healthy business growth, costs $100 and will be offered Mondays from 6-9 p.m. for 10 weeks beginning Sept. 21.
Classes will be held at the Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center at 3805 W. 12th St.
The GrowthVenture classes build on topics taught in the NewVenture Training Course such as market analysis, pricing, cash flow and business concepts.
“We’ve seen more than 500 residents take the first step in our Entrepreneurial Training Course, with many success stories,” said Chauncey Holloman of the Small Business Development Office.
“Now we want to help them — and any other interested small business owner —take the next step to learn from a tried and true program, make connections and get feedback from industry pros as well as other entrepreneurs.”
The course helps existing entrepreneurs analyze their current business situation to identify the best opportunities for growth, and, it has resulted in increased revenue for 60 percent of participants.
Key areas of emphasis include:
- Budgeting
- Sales strategies
- Management team roles
- Operational systems
- Business plan implementation
