CARTI has set its sights on downtown El Dorado for its next cancer center.
The nonprofit cancer care provider has announced plans to renovate a former Office Depot building, located at 1601 North West Avenue in El Dorado, to serve as its newest CARTI Cancer Center. The cancer center is expected to provide comprehensive services for every stage of the treatment process.
This will be CARTI’s sixth comprehensive cancer center and its fourth to be built within the past two years. In total, CARTI has five comprehensive cancer center, out of 19 total locations, within Arkansas.
“CARTI’s presence in south Arkansas began more than 21 years ago with a treatment center in El Dorado,” CARTI president and CEO Adam Head said in a statement. “Patients in El Dorado and surrounding south Arkansas and north Louisiana communities continue to place their trust in CARTI and the unparalleled care we provide. Our expansion is driven by our mission to provide trusted cancer care close to home. We look forward to bringing the most advanced technologies and expertise to the residents of Union County and the surrounding areas with a beautiful and expansive cancer center. Additionally, by renovating an existing building in downtown El Dorado, we are investing in the vitally important revitalization efforts happening within El Dorado and south Arkansas.”
The building will be custom remodeled with work slated to begin in December 2020. CARTI officials anticipate the project to be finished by late summer 2021.
