CARTI will be opening CARTI Urology in Pine Bluff following the acquisition of South Arkansas Urology. This new specialty clinic will provide urology services for men and women.
The clinic will be located at 4303 South Mulberry Street in Pine Bluff – the former location of South Arkansas Urology. Currently this location is not open, and patients are being seen at the CARTI Cancer Center campus at 5001 Bobo Road in Pine Bluff.
CARTI Urology’s clinic is slated to open in February.
“Since our founding in 1976, CARTI’s expert medical and radiation oncologists have provided leading-edge cancer treatments to patients with urologic cancers,” Adam Head, CARTI president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “With the opening of CARTI Urology, we’re expanding that by becoming the destination for general urologic services, plus bringing our own urologic specialist onto our surgical team to increase treatment options for patients diagnosed with these specific cancers. This expands our impact from only treating urologic cancer patients to also seeing patients who have not and may not ever have a cancer diagnosis, and is a demonstration of our steadfast commitment to providing the highest level of care across the state and greater region.”
South Arkansas Urology’s founder, Dr. David C. Jacks, who launched the company in 1981, will be joining the CARTI Urology team.
“I am honored to join CARTI’s team of surgeons and cancer specialists,” Jacks said. “Over the past 40 years, I’ve been fortunate to be able to treat patients from Pine Bluff and beyond. By joining CARTI, a respected cancer care provider, I’ll be able to expand my level of care by providing my patients with unparalleled access to comprehensive cancer care.”
