The City of Cabot was formally recognized as a Trendsetter City by both chambers of the Arkansas Legislature on April 2 for its achievements in community development and economic growth. The Arkansas House of Representatives passed House Resolution 1080, and the Arkansas Senate passed Senate Resolution 42, applauding these achievements.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from both the Arkansas House and Senate,” said Mayor Ken Kincade. “This acknowledgment is a testament to the hard work of our city officials, local businesses and residents who are committed to making Cabot a premier destination for families and businesses alike. Our focus remains on sustainable growth, job creation and making Cabot the best place to live, work and visit.”
Cabot was recently honored for its partnership with Connect2First to develop a comprehensive fiber-optic network. This $20 million bond project provided broadband access to every resident and business within city limits, which positioned Cabot as one of Arkansas’s first multi-gig cities.
Additionally, the city received an honorable mention in the Tourism Development and Creative Culture category for “Gametime at the Grounds,” a 128,000-square-foot regional indoor sports complex. This facility features nine full-sized basketball courts convertible to 18 volleyball courts or 27 pickleball courts, along with an indoor turf area to practice other sports. The project is expected to generate significant revenue for local businesses and strengthen Cabot’s sports hub reputation.
House Resolution 1080 and Senate Resolution 42 emphasize Cabot’s proactive approach to economic development, strategic planning and commitment to enhancing public services. The city has consistently implemented forward-thinking policies and initiatives, situating itself as a model for other municipalities across Arkansas.
The resolution commends Cabot’s visionary leadership and strategic initiatives, emphasizing the city’s role in advancing regional prosperity through innovative strategies and community collaboration. It also highlights Cabot’s balanced approach to revitalizing its historic downtown while embracing new advancements in tech.
