The BridgeWay recently opened its new Women’s Health and Wellness Center, which offers specialized treatment designed to be gender-sensitive toward the needs and challenges of women. The Center provides a caring, supportive, structured environment and offers a variety of programming designed with women in mind.
Treatment can include art, music, aromatherapy, yoga and nutritional education. The individualized treatment plan can include assessment, stabilization and focused treatment interventions that utilize a trauma-informed approach. The staff also helps with establishing links to outside community resources so one can continue to flourish after their treatment.
“One in five women will experience a common mental health disorder such as depression or anxiety. We believe that women’s mental health care has not been given the attention it deserves. The BridgeWay is thrilled to offer the women of Arkansas a specialized program committed to their care,” CEO Megan Miller said. “We are also proud to introduce this new service line in conjunction with the celebration of our 40th year anniversary of being a trusted behavioral health leader in Arkansas.”
The Women’s Health and Wellness Center provides treatment for acute mental health issues arising from mood and anxiety disorders, trauma (physical, emotional and sexual abuse), low self-esteem and body image, relationship issues, postpartum depression, PTSD and self-harm.
