In recognition of Little Rock native Bobby Portis’ contributions to the NBA championship-winning Milwaukee Bucks, Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott will present Portis with a key to the city at the conclusion of the Bobby Portis Foundation’s back-to-school backpack giveaway event this weekend.
The event is scheduled to take place Sunday, Aug. 15, at the Riverfront Park History Pavilion located at 400 President Clinton Ave.
Portis is a former Razorback who was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2015. He was the 22nd overall pick in the NBA draft that year. The Bucks represent his third team in his pro career, but The Little Rock Hall product was able to establish himself with Milwaukee and was instrumental in the Bucks’ playoff run.
