Blue Crane, the Bentonville real estate development branch of Runway Group, a holding company founded by Steuart and Tom Walton, recently purchased 54 acres east of U.S. 71 Business in Bella Vista in three deals totaling $33.9 million.
The purchase of the land, which currently houses the Sugar Creek Shopping Center, could set the stage for future development in Bella Vista. Anchoring the shopping center is a grocery store, Allen’s Food Market. The remaining land is north and east of the shopping center.
“As the region continues to grow, we see Bella Vista as a premier destination for cycling, golf and outdoor recreation,” a Blue Crane spokesperson said. “We look forward to partnering with the city and the Bella Vista Property Owners Association to continue to make Bella Vista a vibrant place to live and party.”
