The University of Central Arkansas has appointed Tim Bisping as the next dean of the College of Business. He will officially assume the role on July 1, 2025.
Bisping, an experienced leader in higher education, currently serves as dean of the Nelson Rusche College of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University. His career spans more than 30 years, with previous administrative and faculty roles at Louisiana Tech University and UCA, where he was an associate professor of economics and department chair from 2006 to 2011.
“Dr. Bisping is an accomplished leader who brings a strong vision for business education and student success,” said UCA Executive Vice President and Provost Michael Hargis. “His extensive experience in higher education, coupled with his familiarity with UCA and the College of Business, makes him an excellent choice to lead the college into the future.”
Bisping’s research focuses on demographic trends in the labor market and their impact on monetary policy. His work has been featured in academic journals such as Economic Inquiry, The Journal of Labor Research and The Journal of Economic Education.
A Wichita State University graduate, Bisping holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in economics. He later earned a Doctor of Economics from Oklahoma State University.
Beyond academics, Bisping has been actively involved in community service, including serving as board president of the Nacogdoches Area United Way. He and his wife, Michelle, an elementary school teacher, have one son, Chandler, who lives in Alabama with his family.
