Ben Kutylo, president and CEO, of Forward Arkansas, will transition out of his role later this year, the nonprofit announced Thursday.
Under Kutylo’s leadership, Forward has significantly expanded its reach and impact, strengthening the teacher pipeline, supporting community-rooted innovation and launching Arkansas’s first outcomes based contracting initiative, according to a press release.
“Forward is in a position of strength, with a clear strategy, a talented team and deep partnerships across the state,” said Anna Strong, Forward Arkansas board chair. “We are grateful to Ben for his visionary leadership and look forward to building on the momentum he has helped create.”
Kutylo, who has overseen Forward since 2019, will continue serving as CEO while the nonprofit’s board of directors conducts an executive search with the help of DSG | Koya. Once a new CEO is named, Kutylo will remain engaged as a senior advisor to ensure a smooth transition.
“Leading Forward over the past five years has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career,” said Kutylo. “Together with an extraordinary team and committed partners, we’ve made real progress for Arkansas students and built a strong, trusted organization. Deciding to step away was not easy and reflects a personal decision tied to my family’s move out of state. I remain a huge supporter of Forward and am excited and confident about its future.”
