Little Rock-based CDI Contractors is preparing for a major leadership transition as longtime President and CEO Mark Beach announced he will retire in December 2025, wrapping up 16 years of service with the company.
Beach, who previously held roles as vice president and chief operating officer, will continue as CEO emeritus through the end of 2025 to assist with the transition.
The company has tapped Mike Preston, former Arkansas Secretary of Commerce and Executive Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, as its next CEO. Preston is expected to bring extensive knowledge of economic development and a broad network of resources to expand CDI’s footprint and help clients achieve their project goals.
In addition to Preston’s appointment, Jonathan Semans has been promoted to president. Semans has been with CDI for 15 years, most recently serving as executive vice president and COO. In his new role, he will oversee preconstruction services, scale delivery capacity, and focus on team development.
Matt Bodishbaugh, a 21-year CDI veteran, will step into the role of COO. Bodishbaugh, who most recently served as executive vice president, will lead internal processes while driving efficiency, compliance and employee training.
“We believe we have assembled a great leadership team at CDI with Mike, Jonathan and Matt,” said Dillard’s President Alex Dillard. “Mike Preston is well known across the state as a leader in economic development and in bringing great projects to life. This team is well positioned to bring great projects to life at CDI. We are excited about this new chapter as we wish Mark Beach the best while thanking him for 16 years of great service.”
With new leadership stepping in and a respected outgoing CEO staying on to guide the transition, CDI says it is poised to continue building on its legacy of delivering world-class construction projects.
