Shawn Bates has been named chief credit officer at Mena-based Union Bank.
Bates brings to the team over 20 years of banking experience with a focus on underwriting and portfolio management across commercial real estate, agriculture, business, SBA, consumer and equipment lending.
In his new role, Bates will oversee all aspects of credit risk management, working primarily from the bank’s Russellville location. Union, chartered in 1934, is a $ 750 million bank with 10 branches.
