As construction continues on its highly anticipated Fort Smith location, Bass Pro Shops is preparing to hire more than 150 full-time and part-time Outfitters for the new store.
The company will host a two-day hiring event March 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Freedom Farms, 300 Akkineni Circle, in Barling. On-site interviews will be conducted for positions across all departments.
Applicants are encouraged to apply in advance at basspro.com/careers by selecting the Fort Smith location. After completing the online application, candidates should attend the hiring event for an interview.
Announced in February 2025, the new Fort Smith destination retail store is designed to serve the Northwest Arkansas region. In addition to hunting and fishing gear, the store will offer equipment and apparel for hiking, biking, backpacking, wildlife viewing and camping. The location will also feature aquariums, wildlife dioramas and free seasonal experiences for families.
For the fourth consecutive year in 2025, Bass Pro Shops was recognized as the leading outdoor retailer on Newsweek’s “America’s Best Retailers” list and was also named one of “America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2025.”
Team member benefits include merchandise discounts up to 50 percent off, competitive wages, holiday and vacation pay, and health, dental and life insurance programs for eligible employees. A grand opening date for the Fort Smith store, which is located along Rogers Ave near I-540, will be announced soon.
