The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) will be hosting a virtual workshop focused on banking for Black entrepreneurs.
Charlene Fadirepo, the founder and CEO of fintech startup Guidefi, will lead the workshop, entitled “Banking in Color: Banking for the Black Entrepreneur.” This workshop will highlight racial disparities that exist in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and provide solutions to address access gaps to funding and banking opportunities.
During the four-session workshop, participants will complete a small business banking self-assessment and establish a plan to address those needs and any access gaps. The workshop will touch on basic banking needs, as well as venture capital.
Fadirepo serves as a financial educator, and her company Guidefi helps to connect women and people of color with financial advisors. She has held roles at Citigroup, Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
This workshop will be held on Monday evenings from 6-8 p.m. on May 3, May 10, May 17 and May 24.
The workshop is fee, but pre-registration is required. Click here to register for the program.
