An arraignment date has been set for the individual accused of killing former state Sen. Linda Collins. Rebecca O’Donnell has been charged in Collins-Smith’s death and will be facing counts of capital murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
The arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, at the Randolph County District Court in Pocahontas.
Collins-Smith was discovered shot to death outside her home on June 4. O’Donnell, 48, was subsequently arrested and charged in the case.
O’Donnell previously served as a campaign worker for Collins-Smith, working on her 2019 re-election effort.
Collins-Smith served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011-2013 and in the Arkansas Senate from 2014-2018. She was defeated in the Republic primary for the Arkansas District 19 seat by James Sturch.
