The Arkansas Travelers are celebrating their beloved ballpark pup, Dizzy, with a special rebrand this summer. From June 10-15, the team will temporarily become the Barkansas Dizzys, presented by Farm Bureau Insurance.
Dizzy, known as “The Goodest Boy in Baseball,” is a familiar presence at Dickey-Stephens Park, often seen roaming the concourse with a baseball in his mouth. He is the loyal companion of Greg Johnston, the Travelers’ vice president of stadium operations, who is marking his 50th year with the organization. Dizzy frequently entertains fans by chasing baseballs on the field and signing “pawtographs” during games.
The team’s special edition logo and uniforms were created by local design firm Eric Rob & Isaac. Inspired by Dizzy’s “English Cream” fur, the color scheme also incorporates the blue and gold hues of the Travelers’ parent club, the Seattle Mariners.
Throughout the six-game stretch, fans are invited to bring their dogs to the ballpark. Highlights include a “Pitching Dizzy” bobblehead giveaway on Thursday and Dizzy’s 8th Birthday Bash on Saturday, complete with a dog bandana giveaway. Instead of fireworks, dog-friendly drone shows will light up the sky on Friday and Saturday nights.
Tickets for Barkansas Dizzys Week, along with official merchandise for both fans and their furry companions, are available at travs.com.
