The Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA) has added a new member to its board of trustees. Daryl Brown has been appointed to join the ARA Board of Trustees, effective immediately.
Brown is the executive director of external affairs South Region for Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO). He is also a 17-year veteran of the Army National Guard. He previously served as director of innovation for Current powered by GE and Hitachi Social Innovation Business.
“With a consistent history of support for ARA, MISO has shown just how committed the company is to making research a priority in Arkansas,” ARA President and CEO Jerry Adams, aid in a statement.
The ARA Board of Trustees is made up of 20 members drawn from the ranks of Arkansas business leaders, as well as the chancellors of five Arkansas research universities. The members include Sonja Yates Hubbard, Robert Shoptaw, Dr. Laurence Alexander, Dr. Kelly Damphousse, Dr. Christina Drale, Dr. Cam Patterson, Dr. Joseph Steinmetz, Ritter Arnold, Andrew Clyde, Ronnie Dedman, Laura Landreaux, Gaylon Lawrence, Drew May, Tommy May, Charles Nabholz, David Peacock, Reynie Rutledge, Dan Williams, and Michelle Wolfe.
Brown replaces outgoing board member Todd Hillman.
