As the state of Arkansas continues to see a rise in new cases, the number of hospitalizations have reached a record high at 488.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson reported 728 new COVID-19 cases with 606 in the community and 122 in correctional facilities, bringing the cumulative number of cases in Arkansas to 34,655.
Pulaski County had the highest number of new cases with 110, Washington County had 62, Crawford County had 46, Benton County had 45, Sebastian County had 30, Jefferson County had 29 and Saline County had 24. All other counties had fewer than 20 new cases.
Within the past 24 hours, hospitalizations have increased by 17 to 488. The number of related deaths have increased by 11 to 374. However, six of those deaths are late reports and did not occur within the past 72 hours.
There were 5,670 COVID-19 completed across the state yesterday, so now the monthly total of tests is at 119,769.
According to interim Secretary of Health Dr. Jose Romero, the number of active cases in the state is 6,998 with 5,939 in the community, 921 in correctional facilities and 138 in nursing homes.
