FIS, the global financial technology company, is launching the fifth FIS Fintech Accelerator in 2020, which aims to identify and work with startups to develop innovate solutions in the financial service industry.

Partnered with the state of Arkansas and the Venture Center, FIS will be working to accelerate 10 high-potential startups during the 12-week long program. Beginning June 3, the accelerator cohort will take part in training and mentoring provided by FIS and the Venture Center, as well as receiving in-depth feedback from banks and other financial service companies.

Cohort participants will also receive a monetary investment as a part of the accelerator.

“The FIS Fintech Accelerator is a key element of our larger FIS Ventures program and is focused on identifying, mentoring and investing in promising startup firms that can bring disruptive, value-added fintech solutions to our clients,” John Crawford, head of M&A and Ventures, FIS said in a statement. “We are always excited to see the innovations that come through this annual program and we look forward to this year’s field of submissions.”

The fourth FIS FinTech Acclerator was kicked off in May 2019. The cohort included companies focused on social media marketing, international money transfers, cybersecurity, financial wellness, student debt loan management and more.

Accelerator officials say that the program is ideal for companies looking to work with established financial institutions to grow their own companies and learn more about customer insights.

“Companies looking for exposure and collaboration with the largest fintech provider in the world should look no further than the FIS Fintech Accelerator,” said Wayne Miller, Executive Director of The Venture Center. “This year’s program will continue to build on what we have already accomplished in helping financial institutions gain better insights on their customer’s financial needs, improve their operations, and enhance the overall customer experience.”

The program officially begins on June 1, 2020, and the kickoff will be held on June 3. There will be a Demo Day on August 19, and the program ends on August 21.

The deadline to apply for the 2020 FIS Fintech Accelerator is March 6.
