Marketing and Recruitment Manager, Superior Senior Care
For Kim Hurst, marketing and recruitment manager at Superior Senior Care, working in elder care is not just a career; it is a calling.
“I’ve always been drawn toward helping others and the need to give back, but I wasn’t quite sure where that would land me careerwise,” she said. “When I joined Superior Senior Care, those two passions came together in a way that felt natural and purposeful. I quickly realized that marketing in this industry isn’t about selling a product. It’s about guiding families toward support, dignity and peace of mind during some of the most emotional moments of their lives.”
As Hurst grew within the company, she took on more responsibility in shaping the brand voice, strengthening Superior’s statewide presence and making sure Arkansas families knew they had a trusted, local option for in‑home care. Over time, that work naturally evolved into her current role.
“Today, I’m proud to lead the advertising and marketing efforts for a company that has served Arkansas families for more than 40 years,” she said. “Being able to blend creativity, compassion and purpose every day is one of the most meaningful parts of my career.”
While Hurst’s education gave her the foundational skills to think critically and communicate effectively, she added, the real lessons came through experience: learning how to balance creativity with compassion, listening to families in vulnerable moments, and adapting quickly in a changing industry.
“Education gave me the knowledge; experience gave me the wisdom to lead with empathy and purpose,” she said.
She added that the company works to set the standard for compassion, professionalism and reliability in senior care. Staff hope to lead by example and show that high-quality care starts with putting clients first and maintaining a genuine commitment to helping seniors live safely and independently at home.
To Hurst, success is not measured by her accomplishments but by the positive impact she has on the people she serves. Building meaningful relationships, treating others with kindness and respect, and becoming a good listener will take individuals further than any title, she said.
“If someone walked in my shoes for a day, I would remind them that every conversation matters,” she said. “In my work, we are not simply providing in-home care services; we are helping families navigate some of life’s most important decisions. Lead with empathy, stay adaptable, and keep your purpose at the center of everything you do. When your work is guided by compassion and integrity, you’ll make a lasting difference in the lives of others.”
At the end of a long day, Hurst said, she enjoys unwinding in the beauty of nature. In her free time, she can often be found at local fishing holes, having picked up the hobby from her father and passed it down to her children. She said she counts her marriage to her husband and raising their two sons together as her greatest accomplishment.
“Those personal foundations give me strength and perspective,” she said. “They’re what I carry into my professional life every day.”
