Fayetteville’s AM Group has named Aaron Hopwood as its first director of creative and content.
Hopwood brings more than a decade of experience in creative strategy, copywriting and brand storytelling, having led creative work for nationally recognized brands including Samsung, Nike, Smucker’s, Gillette and Old Spice.
Most recently, Hopwood served as creative director at Saatchi X, where he spent more than seven years developing integrated campaigns for global consumer brands. During his tenure, he advanced from copywriter to creative leader, overseeing work spanning retail experiences, social commerce, digital marketing and omnichannel brand campaigns for some of the world’s most recognized companies, according to a press release.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Hopwood holds bachelor’s degrees in both creative writing and marketing. In his new role at the communications agency, Hopwood will lead creative strategy across AM Group’s growing client portfolio, establish creative standards across departments, oversee brand messaging and content development and manage the agency’s social media team, the release stated.
“Aaron is the kind of creative leader who makes everyone around him better,” said Andrea Ritchie, partner and co-founder of AM Group. “He’s equal parts strategist, storyteller and collaborator, with an ability to turn complex ideas into work that people actually connect with. As we continue to grow, we need someone who can help shape not only the creative direction of our clients’ brands, but also the future of our agency. We are excited to have Aaron as part of our team.”
