7 Arkansas Locales Awarded $1.3M in Community Development Block Grants

Seven Arkansas cities and counties have been awarded more than $1.3 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grants.

Grants will be administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Grants Division.

Communities eligible for CDBG funds must have a population of less than 50,000 and a majority of households with low or moderate incomes.

The projects receiving CDBG include:

Amagon, safe room, $220,000
Danville, drainage improvements, $210,000
Eureka Springs, storm-water channel rehabilitation, $220,000
McCrory, drainage improvements, $121,000
Paragould, homeless shelter, $187,000
Waldron, youth center, $202,000
Monroe County, drainage improvements, $220,000
