North Little Rock is set to become home to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility from intelligent power management company Eaton, representing an investment of more than $242 million and an expected 1,200 new jobs.
The 1 million-square-foot facility will manufacture customized electrical enclosures for Eaton’s Fibrebond business. The enclosures will serve growing demand in the data center, utility, industrial and digital communications markets.
The company expects the new facility to double its U.S. manufacturing capacity for electrical enclosures.
“Customers are looking for ways to deploy critical power infrastructure faster, with greater certainty and less complexity,” said Mike Yelton, president of the electrical sector, Americas, at Eaton. “This investment expands our ability to deliver custom modular electrical enclosures while strengthening our U.S. manufacturing capacity and skilled workforce. Building on the strong foundation we’ve established in Minden, Louisiana, this investment enables us to better support customers with the speed, scale and expertise they need to meet growing demand.”
Eaton plans to hire for manufacturing, electrical and operations positions at the North Little Rock facility. Employees will have access to hands-on training and career advancement opportunities as they develop technical skills for higher-skilled roles.
“As Arkansas grows, the need for critical and reliable infrastructure grows with it, and investments like this one play a crucial role in ensuring we can meet increasing demand,” said Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “Because of our low taxes, reduced permitting times, and strong workforce, it’s no surprise Eaton is choosing Arkansas as the home of one of its largest manufacturing facilities. Thank you to Mike Yelton and the entire team at Eaton for the work you have done on this project, and welcome to the Natural State.”
The project is a collaboration between the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the City of North Little Rock and the Metro Little Rock Alliance, led by the Little Rock Regional Chamber.
“Eaton is making a transformational $242 million investment in North Little Rock, Arkansas, that will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity for its Fibrebond business and is expected to create 1,200 new jobs for Arkansans,” said Clint O’Neal, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. “This investment is a milestone for North Little Rock and Central Arkansas, and the new facility will be a major new addition to the local and state economy. Eaton selected North Little Rock after a competitive site search, and we thank them for choosing our state. Congratulations to Eaton and the City of North Little Rock on this exciting announcement.”
